Who We Are

Nia Imani, is a 21 year old Trinidadian- American, Brooklyn native, marketing major at New York University’s Stern School of Business. She grew up in the heart of Bed-Stuy where she developed her love and passion for Black culture. Over the years she experienced gentrification within her home and decided to act on it. Growing up in a Caribbean household she was exposed to a plethora of Black culture that can be found across the African Diaspora. Her first loves were music and poetry, which was the first submission to Eban Noire in April 2020.

While she still writes poetry for herself, she expanded into the fields of fashion, modeling, marketing and become a social media micro-influencer, where she uses her platforms to inspire other Black girls just like her.

Nia started Eban Noire during quarantine 2020 and quickly gained a small audience of peers who supported her vision and shared their forms of expression on the Instagram page for months. Over the past year, Nia has been working behind the scenes to continue to grow Eban Noire while embarking on other ventures.
